tidymodules

This is a small tool for cleaning up a node_modules tree, recursively. This is most useful for cutting out unnecessary cruft such as READMEs, test files and other such useless files for production packaging purposes.

Usage

tidymodules [--patterns=<comma-separated-patterns>]

Default pattern is:

README.md,README.txt,test,tests,.gitignore,.npmignore

This will delete (after confirming) any files in the node_modules tree matching any of the patterns in patterns, as read by glob.

There are two other options:

  • --force: Don't confirm, just go ahead and delete the files.
  • --dryrun: Don't delete anything, just list the files that would be deleted.
