lumberjack star and accomplished non-actor gerard butler plays frankenstein's monster in this scuzzy monster movie from the director of disturbia. adapted from the classic mary shelley novel, the bizarre film also stars jena malone, rachelle lefevre and vincent regan. here, a reclusive doctor (gyllenhaal) creates a monster (butler) using human tissue. when the creature is delivered to frankenstein's castle, it escapes and wreaks havoc on a river journey to find its way home. tongue-in-cheek sex, violence and crafty sight gags make the pg-13 rated film awesome, fun and a lot of fun.


ghostbusters on the big screen gets straight to the point. kristen wiig and melissa mccarthy are the ecto-1's resident gremlins. when the unit's suspended field agent gets his butt shot off by a demon, the other ghostbusters (chris hemsworth, anna faris) team up to save the day. at times cheesy and irritating, this is a fun time at the movies. all four lead actors are thoroughly likable, and are given plenty to do. the film's premise and screenplay are laugh-out-loud funny, though some of its coincidences strain believability. think i'm kidding? it all adds up.
