bacharach & david wrote, composed, and produced many of dionne warwick's early hits. the duos next collaboration, dionne warwick sings burt bacharach, was recorded in bacharach's home studio in los angeles. songs like if that's what it takes, how can you mend a broken heart, and who is gonna love me? are reflected in warwick's sensitive and smoky vocal performance, and are not only performed and recorded in a way that honors the original artists, but also gives them an up-to-date feel in their modern day versions. 


warwick's emotional vocal delivery and heartfelt vocal performances brought burt bacharach's compositions to the forefront of the national psyche. both her work with bacharach and her solo efforts have helped her become one of the most successful female recording artists of all time.
