hello, i have just purchased warcraft 3. i have installed the game and when i try to play the game on warcraft 3, i get an error "no cd-rom drive has been found", and i don't know what to do. (i have used the warcraft iii cd-key that came in the box.)

i have warcraft 3 running fine on my old windows xp machine (which has a dvd-rom drive).. my new machine (linux) does not have a dvd-rom drive. i do not have a spare dvd-rom drive to use. i have checked out the warcraft 3 instructions and it says to use the "winecfg" command to change the wine configuration to use the dev/dvd as a cd-rom drive. i do not know what the winecfg command is (or how to use it). i tried to use the search tool in the menu but found nothing.

i've been trying for the past hour or so, but it just won't work. i installed warcraft 3 in wine, and everything went fine. it played the game perfectly, but now i'm getting the "no cd-rom drive found" error. i've tried everything i could think of, but nothing will fix it. i've even tried using an external drive (the one i used for warcraft 2), and it won't work either.

hey, i figured it out! instead of running the game through the original frozen throne (which had the crack), i used the crack i found to run the frozen throne through it! this way, i have the original crack for the game and it will play on battle.net!

after installing this crack, i had some problems. i couldnt connect to battle.net but the app was running as it should. i then tried the frozen throne through the crack and it said, im not a battle.net player, and i couldnt connect to battle.net. then i found this forum, and now its working.
