Get Word Info CLI

A command-line tool for getting word definitions from a dictionary API.

Installation

You can install the word-dict package globally using npm:

$ npm install -g word-dict

Usage

To use the word-dict command, simply enter it followed by the word you want to look up:

$ define hello

This will print out the part of speech, definition, and example (if available) for the word "hello".

Examples

Here are some examples of how you can use the define command:

$ define programming

verb:
 •To enter a program or other instructions into (a computer or other electronic device) to instruct it to do a particular task. He programmed the DVR to record his favorite show.
  📚 Example: He programmed the DVR to record his favorite show.

 •To develop (software) by writing program code. I programmed a small game as a demonstration.
  📚 Example: I programmed a small game as a demonstration.

 •To put together the schedule of an event. Mary will program Tuesday’s festivities.
  📚 Example: Mary will program Tuesday’s festivities.

 •To cause to automatically behave in a particular way. The lab rat was programmed to press the lever when the bell rang.
  📚 Example: The lab rat was programmed to press the lever when the bell rang.
