Quick Start

# Install globally
npm install -g @lytics/dev-agent

Requirements

• Node.js >= 22 (LTS)

• Automatic retry with exponential backoff
• Health checks for all components
• Memory-safe (circular buffers, proper cleanup)
• Graceful shutdown (no zombie processes)

How It Works

1. Index - Scans your TypeScript/JavaScript codebase and builds semantic vectors
2. Search - Uses local embeddings (all-MiniLM-L6-v2) for semantic understanding
3. Store - LanceDB vector storage, all data stays on your machine
4. Integrate - MCP protocol connects to Cursor/Claude Code
5. Query - AI tools can now understand your codebase semantically

Local-First

All processing happens on your machine:

• No cloud services required
• No API keys needed
• Your code never leaves your computer
• Works completely offline (after initial model download)

• Analysis: TypeScript Compiler API + ts-morph
• Embeddings: @xenova/transformers (all-MiniLM-L6-v2)
