TamedJs

Version: 1.13.0

TamedJs is a framework for loading and building objects. Objects can be lazyly loaded (usually for dev) or compiled into one js and then loaded. Once an object is loaded it is added to the object cache to be instantiated and used on the frontend. Theoretically, it could also be used in the backend, however that is not it's current intention. Objects follow a actionscript type of mindset of importing an object based on it's defined Object type which is at the top of a file.

The desire is to allow TamedJs to be used with Chirp (an event system) and Wildebeest (a game engine).

TamedJs will handle frontend object:

  • Loading: By default will lazy load objects. If using express-tamed server, then it can be (wip) be used to precompile needed files from a manifest and serve out the single compiled js file.
  • Defining: Adding an object into the TamedJs internal cache so that it can be created later on.
  • Creation: Creating new instances of objects from the internal TamedJs cache and then setting them up.
  • Destroying: Freeing up an object once it is no longer needed.

TamedJs is too impressive (just kidding). Just a pattern and lib to facilitate object management in Javascript. TamedJs allows for two ways of working with objects. There is the normal method and then the simple method. Normal TamedJs is a bit more verbose and requires the developer to be more mindful of the object and function context as they use the code. It is more flexible by also a bit more code. The simple method is really for prototyping and someone not too comfortable with Javascript. It's also less flexible and NOT recommended for any kind of app or system where there is a lot of processing going, or a lot of objects being created. More info can be found below:
