Kafka-node-manager

Kafka-node-manager performs management of kafka-node processing jobs and ensures that messages are only committed when the job completes.

Operation

KafkaJobManager reads and commits messages on behalf of the client. The jobmmanager will call the provided client function with the message read from kafka. The client can throttle the number of inflight messages and optionally provide callbacks for success and failure and a topic to send failed messages to.

var jobManager = new KafkaJobManager(clientFunction, zkConnection, consumerGroup, topic, inflightMessages, notifySuccess, notifyFailure, deadLetterTopic);

Use of pm2 to manage the execution of your client process is strongly recommended as there are circumstances where a forced reconnect is required.
