recurve-cache v0.1.1
recurve-cache
Simple cache Javascript library for the browser and Node.js.
Count and cost based cache.
Items are cached up to a total count and cost limit. Once either limits are reached then items are removed. Most costly items are removed first, as a tie breaker or if there are no costs then items are removed by least recently added.
Usage
Example
No count or cost limit
var cache = new Cache();
cache.set("a", 1);
cache.get("a"); // returns 1
Count based cache
var cache = new Cache(2);
cache.set("a", 1);
cache.set("b", 2);
cache.set("c", 3); // "a" is removed since it is the least recently added
Cost based cache
var cache = new Cache(null, 3);
cache.set("a", "valueA", 1);
cache.set("b", "valueB", 2);
cache.set("c", "valueC", 1); // "b" is removed since the total cost
// exceeds 3 and "b" is the most costly
